Pandit Atulkumar Upadhye is one of the most respected and celebrated violinists in Indian classical music. Born into a family of musicians on June 29, 1957, his musical journey began at a very young age under the guidance of his father, Prof. Balkrishna Upadhye, a renowned violinist and founder of the Upadhye Violin Vadan Vidyalay in Pune.

From the age of four, he started learning the violin and went on to train in the traditions of great masters like Pandit Bhaskarbuva Bakhle, Pandit Bapurao Ketkar, Pandit Shridhar Parsekar, and Dr. Yehudi Menuhin.
